Most Impactful Scientific Paper (2021-22)

  • We invite authors to submit their original articles for this contest.
  • The original article can be case series or a prospective or retrospective study published in a peer reviewed indexed journal during 2021-2022
  • First Author of selected top 5 articles will get opportunity to present their paper to elite panel of reviewers during DRM 2022.
  • Best paper will receive a special award during DRM 2022.

TITLE Title should be the same as for the published article 150 words
FORMAT
  • Content of Publication should be focused on subspecialty of Vitreo-retina and or uvea
  • Author needs to send the Abstract and full text of their article
  • The Full text article would be circulated to our judges privately ensuring that there is no copyright violation

We invite 2-minute surgical videos for this contest.

  • These videos would be judged by reviewers for their learning, novelty and quality quotient.
  • First Author of selected top videos will get opportunity to present their video to elite panel of surgeons during DRM 2022.
  • Best surgical video will receive a special award during DRM 2022.
Section Format Word Limit
TITLE Title should convey the description of Video and its key message or learning 150 words
CASE SUMMARY AND LEGEND Unstructured abstract should describe the background of case and the steps demonstrated in video. Please note, same description would be uploaded to our Web Page 300 words
VIDEO FORMAT
  • Save your video in .wmv or .mpg or .mov or.mp4 formats.
  • Video size should be no larger than 500 MB
  • Video should be focused on the key step or event that is worth sharing with our audience.
  • Video should be accompanied by narration and subtitles in English. Avoid using music, animations or clips from cinema.
  • Avoid using logos or other promotional material, however the covering thumbnail of video can have details of authors and institutions
  • Avoid using patient identifying information in video and file names.
  • Videos already published in other journals or social media platforms will not be accepted but informative or innovative videos that have been presented in other meetings can be submitted.
  • Authors need to ensure that they have appropriate copyrights and Informed consents to share all the contents that are included in video.
  • By submitting to DRF, authors acknowledge that they have agreed to transfer the copyright to Delhi Retina Forum for using it on our website and other promotional activities
Author Restrictions Each Author can Submit a maximum of 2 Videos for contest. Maximum 3 co-authors permitted
Keywords Authors need to add minimum 3 keywords for their Video. This will help us in indexing and archiving the selected Images 3

Challenging Cases

TITLE Title should convey the key challenge that Clinician faced and should also include the type/category of the case – Uvea/oncology/Infective retinitis/AMD/Retinal Imaging 150 words
List of Authors You can have up to 4 Co-authors. Presenting author has to be declared at the time of submission and same cannot be changed. Presenting Author has to register for meeting.
ABSTRACT Unstructured abstract should define the case with brief history, relevant clinical findings including multimodal imaging and follow up details. Abstract should also highlight the unique challenge that this case posed to the authors.
REFERENCES References not more than 5 to be listed to help reviewers. Not mandatory for rare cases 200 words
MY APPROACH Clinician should also list his first impression and line of management for this case 200 words
Two Key Questions 2 specific questions related to “the challenge” have to be submitted to our Experts 200 words
One “Take to your PRACTICE” MESSAGE 1 key learning that Delegates can take to their Practice to help them when they are managing similar case 150 words

Surgical Challenges

TITLE Title should convey the key challenge faced during that surgery and the Pearl if any, that Surgeon wants to share – e.g . “Modified Subretinal injection cannula for VFI systems” Preference would be given to cases that posted a decision or management dilemma to the surgeon 150 words
List of Authors You can have up to 4 Co-authors. Presenting author has to be declared at the time of submission and same cannot be changed. Presenting Author has to register for meeting.
ABSTRACT Unstructured abstract should define the case with brief background and the key challenge for which this pearl is needed 300 words
VIDEO FORMAT .MP4 or AVI format. ≥ 1280 × 720 resolution. Narration in English are allowed but avoid music in background. 120 seconds

Prove Your Point

Vitreo-retina specialty keeps on evolving fast and VR Surgeons are often looking “beyond conventional” to improve outcomes or to provide safer treatments to their patients. This session brings such unconventional treatments or surgical approaches that are used by our innovative retina colleagues. The points should be backed by strong scientific arguments and rationale behind going unconventional and it should be a case series of 3 cases at least. Individual cases shall not qualify for this session.

TITLE Title should convey the less frequently utilized or unconventional approach or technique used by Authors. Please note if you are doing something undescribed, better to submit it as “Innovation” 150 words
List of Authors You can have up to 4 Co-authors. Presenting author has to be declared at the time of submission and same cannot be changed. Presenting Author has to register for meeting.
ABSTRACT Unstructured abstract should define the background, rationale and results of the “unconventional” approach that you are “Proving” 500 words
VIDEO/IMAGE or DATA Authors can “prove their point” in a 5minute presentation including Video or Images if any 300 seconds
RESULTS OR IMPACT Authors need to share the number of cases where this approach was used to improve outcomes or safety in a better way than conventional approach. Pre and Post treatment documentation is must. 200 words
2 Key CAUTIONS 2 Cautions that should be observed while applying their recommendation to clinical practice 200 words
REFERENCE sharing Authors can share relevant information for resources 150 words
